Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dwight Ball to discuss shared priorities. The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to continue working collaboratively with Premier Ball and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. He also thanked Premier Ball for his ongoing collaboration on a wide range of issues, including infrastructure, energy, and health care.
The Prime Minister and the Premier affirmed their shared commitment to ongoing bilateral work on electricity rate mitigation and to conclude this work expeditiously.
The Prime Minister and Premier Ball also discussed the importance of investments in health care, including pharmacare, and the proposed fixed link between the island of Newfoundland and Labrador.
They agreed to continue to collaborate on these important priorities, and looked forward to the next First Ministers’ Meeting.
