“Panic, I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It”: Gunfire Rang Out In Downtown Seattle

An unknown person opened fire on people in Seattle. At least one person was killed. Several people were injured, including a child. The shooter managed to escape, and the police are looking for him.

The sounds of gunfire were heard in the city center — at a McDonald’s on Pine Street. According to eyewitnesses, about 40 shots were fired in total. Hearing them, people ran in all directions.

“It was pure panic. I have never seen anything like it,” said one of the witnesses of the incident.

“Detectives are investigating after six people were shot, one of them fatally. The suspect fled the scene,” the Seattle Police Department said.

A representative of the city’s fire department said that a 55-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy are in serious condition. Doctors assess the condition of three other men aged 21 to 35 years as stable. There is no information about the deceased.

Police blocked off streets nearby to the scene, and the mayor’s office asked to avoid the area where the shooting occurred.
