Democrats are still trying to drag out the case and call additional witnesses to the hearing.
John Barrasso, the third-highest senator for the Republican Party of the United States, said he was likely to be able to prevent the Democrats from calling witnesses and complete the proceedings on Friday.
“We still feel very positive about it. The momentum is on the side of having final vote and final acquittal tomorrow”, he said.
On Friday, both sides will have final arguments, and then senators will vote on the need to call witnesses. Democrats will definitely not be able to get the support of the two third Senate, but the call of new witnesses may hit Trump on the eve of the 2020 presidential election.
