Coronavirus Outbreak In Italy Shuts Down Mass Services

In the Veneto and Lombardia regions, the number of people infected with the coronavirus has exceeded 50. Mass events are banned in 10 cities, and schools and shops are closed. The President of Lombardia Attilio Fontana, ANSA reports, announced this at a press conference.

There are currently 12 cases of coronavirus in Veneto. One of the infected, a 78-year-old man, died the day before. 39 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Lombardy. One of the infected also died.

“We are glad that residents have listened to our recommendations and are staying at home,” Fontana said.

The Italian authorities emphasize that they are doing everything to stabilize the situation. Special measures have been taken in 10 cities where a decree on curbing coronavirus.
