Former New York mayor, media Mogul and billionaire Mike Bloomberg, after failing to win a series of democratic primaries in the “super Tuesday,” announced that he would no longer fight for the nomination of the Democratic Party in the elections against the incumbent us President Donald Trump.
Now Bloomberg, who has spent more than half a billion dollars of his own money on the campaign, has come out in support of former Vice President Joe Biden.
“Three months ago, I entered the race to beat Donald Trump. I am leaving the race today for the same reason,” the former mayor said in a statement.
“I have always believed that to win over Donald Trump, we must first unite around the candidate with the best chances. After yesterday’s vote, it became clear that this candidate is my friend and wonderful American Joe Biden,” the text reads.
Of the 14 states and territories where democratic supporters voted for candidates for the presidential election on March 3, Bloomberg was able to get the first place only in American Samoa — a few Islands in the Pacific Ocean, where 51 thousand people live.
