Chinese authorities will temporarily ban foreign citizens with valid visas and residence permits from entering the country from March 28. This is stated in a statement published on Thursday by the state administration for the migration of the People’s Republic of China.
“The Chinese side has decided to temporarily ban the entry of foreign citizens with valid visas and residence permits from 00: 00 on March 28, 2020,” the document says.
China suspends several visa-free transits and visa-free entry programs in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other regions. As indicated in the statement of the Ministry, this measure was introduced because of the pandemic.
An outbreak of the coronavirus-caused disease was recorded in late 2019 in Central China, later spread to more than 150 countries and was recognized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
