Senegal has shown grit and goals worthy of a defending Champion, and the Teranga Lions may roar their way into the final.

Earlier today at the Vilankulo arena, Senegal bled Madagascar and created a goal bath at the ongoing Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Mozambique 2022. Playing in their last group match, the Senegalese team had the upper hand in a thrilling 8-4 outcome.

Riding on the wave of two previous convincing victories over Uganda and Egypt, Senegal outclassed and knocked out Madagascar. A hat trick came from Mamour Diagne, while a brace came off Seydina Diagne. Souley Coly, Saliou Ndaye, and Seydina Sene recorded a goal each. Marcel Richard, Joel Jindy, and Ymelda Razafimandimby were on the score sheet for Madagascar.

Senegal’s overwhelming victory sets them up for a demanding encounter with Mozambique. This semifinal is billed for October 26, while Morocco takes on Egypt in the day’s second match. In other games played today, Morocco triumphed over Malawi by 7-3, while Uganda lost to Egypt by 2-6. Finalists at Mozambique 2022 will be Africa’s standard bearers at next year’s Beach Soccer World Cup scheduled for Abu Dhabi.
