On December 20, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a storage facility in the 1000 block of Elgin Avenue for the report of a male who had been shot.
Officers from the Central and West Districts, assisted by the Tactical Support Unit (TAC), attended and located a suspect attempting to flee the property in a vehicle. TAC officers safely placed the suspect under arrest without incident.
Officers located a 28-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. He was transported to hospital in stable condition, receiving medical attention for his injury. Officers located and seized a loaded .22 calibre rifle on the property as evidence.
